Promote the image of Vinh Phuc’s people and land

Defining tourism propaganda and promotion as an important measure to improve the image of Vinh Phuc’s people and land, over the last years, the Information and Tourism Promotion Center (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has synchronously implemented solutions to attract domestic and foreign tourists to Vinh Phuc.

Regarding this issue, Mrs. Dam Thi Hang, Director of the Information and Tourism Promotion Center said that in order to promote the propaganda and promotion of tourism, the Center released the tourism news monthly about current affairs, information on cultural festivals, tourism, tourism resources and new policies ... bringing the more comprehensive view to readers. In addition, Vinh Phuc tourism website also attracted millions of visitors and exchanged information among 10 provinces in the Red River Delta.

The Center directly provides information to visitors, businesses, managers; promotes the propaganda and introduces tourism images of the province on many information channels and mass media; promotes Vinh Phuc tourism on facebook social networking at the site facebook.com/xtdlvp; sets up series of photos, videos about tourist areas of the province. Especially, in 2016, the Center coordinated with Department of Information and Communication to build a new website: dulichvinhphuc.gov.vn so that people can easily survey Vinh Phuc tourism.

In addition, the Center organized many programs promoting the image of Vinh Phuc’s land and people through tourism fairs held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Bac Giang, Ha Nam, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Lam Dong ...; propagandized, promoted Vinh Phuc tourism image at Tay Thien Festival; attended the Spring Festival; successfully organized the exhibition at Tay Thien and fairs of Red River Delta provinces in Vinh Yen city; participated in the event of National Tourism Year, the great anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi.

At the same time, the Center set up maquette and edited travel handbooks in Vietnamese (used for domestic tourism promotion) and in English (for foreign tourism promotion); Vinh Phuc Tourism Map; coordinated with television channels such as Vinh Phuc TV, VTV2, VTV4, VTC10, the special channel on tourism, S Vietnam channel to make film aboutVinh Phuc; copied into disk to introduce at tourism fairs and promotional spots; propagated festivals, tourist destinations, Vinh Phuc tourism potentials on Vinh Phuc Newspaper, Tourism Magazine ...

Successfully organized the logo and slogan contest for Vinh Phuc tourism; hosted the program signing the tourism development among 3 provinces: Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen; in collaboration with Hanoi Redtours Tourism Company to organize the delegation to investigate Ha Tien Pagoda (Vinh Yen City), Vinh Son Snake Village (Vinh Tuong), Tay Thien tourist area, Tam Dao Tourist Area; advised the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop the Tourism Promotion Program for the period 2015-2020.

By enhancing tourism propaganda and promotion, in recent years, the tourism industry of the province has constantly developed with a large number of visitors higher than the previous years. In 2016, Vinh Phuc welcomed 3.8 million tourists, making an increase of 15% compared to 2015; tourism revenue reached VND 1,287 billion, up 10% compared to in 2016.

In the first 9 months of 2017, the province welcomed 3.6 million tourists, up 17% compared to the same period in 2016; the revenue was VND 2,560 billion, up 10.7% compared to the same period in 2016. Vinh Phuc tourism ranks 20/ 63 provinces and cities throughout the country.

Despite of the positive results, the tourism propaganda and promotion of the province still faces to many difficulties: funding sources have not met the plan, the organization scale of promotion activities is small, tourism publications are monotonous and not diversified; there is no special tourist souvenir product.

The attraction of businesses participating in tourism promotion program is very limited. The tourism promotion program in the period 2015-2020 has not been approved yet so it is difficult for the Center to actively promote tourism. Staffs in charge of tourism propaganda and promotion are not enough and they are not really professional ...

In order to enhance the propagation and promotion of Vinh Phuc’s people and land image as well as tourism potentials of the province, the Tourism Information and Promotion Center will further actively coordinate with enterprises to promote through websites to raise the quality of information and images; renew and improve the quality of images and videos on tourist sites and spots in the province; coordinate with mass media agencies to carry out many reports and videos promoting tourism; upgrade the website, timely publish information, images and investment incentive policies to enhance the promotion.
